Built in 1893, this 37-room mansion was home to the John A. and Margaret Thatcher family. It was named for Mrs. Thatcher’s favorite flower, and it remained a family residence for 75 years.
The house was designed by noted New York architect Henry Hudson Holly and took two years to build. Nearly all of the furnishings, accessories, decorative arts, paintings, custom woodwork, and wall and window treatments are original to the home.
Colorado’s Crown Jewel
Rosemount has been called “Colorado’s Crown Jewel.” It was chosen for A&E’s nationally televised series America’s Castles and for HGTV’s Christmas Castles.
Touring the house
Guided tours begin on the half hour throughout the day. During special events and the last two weeks of the holiday season, the house is open for self-guided tours.
